Welcome to the Forest Edge Learning Federation, a partnership of wonderful schools in the forest. My name is Tracy Allen and I am the Executive Headteacher of Breamore CE, Hyde CE and Hale primaries: our three small schools with big hearts. My job is a unique one - I’m not a head teacher of one school, but three. All three of our schools are special to me and completely individual in their own right.
We set ourselves apart with our OFSTED 'Outstanding' personal development. From our '50 Things' enrichment promise, to our bespoke Forest Edge Curriculum, we nurture every child, seeing the best in them and all they can bring to the world. By sharing our expertise, passion, facilities and more across the three schools, we can bring ambitious learning to life, all within idyllic grounds and smaller-than-average class sizes. It really is the best of both worlds!
Breamore, Hyde and Hale all enjoy their own distinctive characters and spirits as schools. Practically, we share a leadership team, governing body and staff development opportunities, as well as bringing the year groups together several times a year for celebration days and trips. The children themselves really benefit from being part of a small school family but equally having access to a larger federation family.
Breamore is the biggest of our three schools with 74 children currently on roll. We pride ourselves on our nurturing and inclusive environment. We are on the A338 and provide wrap around care from 7.45am - 5.30pm.
Hyde is our smallest school with only 49 pupils. The children love to play out on the common. Please listen out for our school bell which we ring every morning, so that you all know that we are in school and are about to start our learning!
Breamore and Hyde are both church schools and we really appreciate the strong relationship that we have with both the Hyde and Breamore church communities.
Hale is a community school and is set in the most idyllic setting. We have 69 children on roll currently. The New Forest wildlife provides a picturesque backdrop to all our learning and the children take pride in looking after their environment.
OFSTED visited all three of our schools between November 2023 and October 2024, and they were all judged to be ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ for personal development.
I’m really thankful for the opportunity to be able to be part of these three wonderful schools. If you would like to find out more about each individual school, please use the links below. We are always happy to show new families around, so if you are interested in joining our Forest Edge community, please contact the school office to arrange a tour.
Best wishes,
Tracy Allen
